Fused Glass, also known as warm glass or kiln-formed glass, is a technique used to join together pieces of glass in a kiln. The kiln must be fired at temperatures of about 1,100 and 1,700 degrees Fahrenheit and while this may seem very hot to most people, it is actually very low compared to blown glass temperatures, which can reach up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Although there are different methods and temperatures for fusing glass, the idea remains the same. At a certain temperature, the glass will melt. When two separate pieces are placed together inside a hot kiln, these pieces soften, and then fuse together. After cooling down, the pieces are then permanently joined together.
