HERE is what we are offering in the hot shop this SPRING...
ADVANCED BEGINNING GLASSBLOWING MONDAYS 6:30-9:30pm: SIX WEEKS/ $660 STARTS APRIL 15th This class will focus on adding fun & funky colorful WRAPS to your vessels to make them more interesting. We will keep the shapes simple and spend the 6 weeks adding decorative elements by way of wrapping molten glass around our pieces. We will do lip wraps, body wraps, textured wraps, spiral wraps, wacky wraps, and whatever else we can think of. This also means we get to use color bar which will give you a richness of color you just can't get using frit.
INTERMEDIATE GLASSBLOWING TUESDAYS 6:30-9:30pm: SIX WEEKS/ $660 STARTS APRIL 16th This class will be an intro to creating footed vessels! We will work on solid dropped (Swedish) feet that are shaped in various ways as well as feet that are sculpted from the bubble (Roman). This class will open the door to the possibility of stemware.
INTERMEDIATE/ ADVANCED GLASSBLOWING WEDNESDAYS 6:30-9:30pm: SIX WEEKS/ $660 STARTS APRIL 17th For those who missed it the first time around, in this workshop participants will work individually with guest instructor Chris Wattsto analyze core problems that each student encounters in their chosen designs. Chris will watch your process, help identify what needs to be improved and tailor individual plans for achieving each goal. The first 2 or 3 weeks of this 6-week session will consist of drills designed to increase everyone’s comfort level with working hot and fast before progressing to individual goals. No need for a description with a name like that! Be prepared to be challenged, frustrated and have a ton of fun. By the end of this session everything will seem easier!
BEGINNING GLASSBLOWING SUNDAYS 2:30-5:30pm: FOUR WEEKS/ $440 STARTS APRIL 28th This is your chance to try glassblowing. This class can be the next step for any student who has taken a weekend workshop, or the first step for someone who wants to learn the basics of blowing glass. After a refresher/ introduction on how to gather, marver, and blow a bubble, we will focus our time on team work and making drinking vessels. No experience necessary. SIGN UP HERE
