Saturday & Sunday, June 23rd & 24th
During this workshop, students will learn how to transform recycled and found glass via traditional glass working techniques in the hot shop. Through demonstrations, students will be introduced to using found glass in the hot shop through heating glass in ovens and garages, picking up on punty’s and pipes and altering using the glory hole, torch, and other hand tools. Students will be exposed to using different types of glass and glass objects to
make art out of including beer bottles, shot glasses, marbles, punch bowls, etc. Since this class is only a two day class, participants should have some previous
glass working experience. If you can make a punti, remember to keep turning, and use basic hand tools then you’re all good.
Class will meet from 9am - 4pm both days. All tools, materials, and lunch will be provided.
